🚀 Join CW Battle Royale
Free. No signup. No account. Point your logger at our server and every CW QSO you log starts scoring.
We just opened. Log a CW QSO and you could be the first callsign on the board.
Check your callsign in your logger
The station callsign in your logger is the name you'll play under. There's nothing to register.
Send your logged QSOs to the game
The game listens for logged QSOs over UDP at:
That's cwbattle.com port 12060. Some loggers only take a numeric IP, so use the IP above to be safe. Internet provider blocking it? Use port 5260 instead.
N1MM Logger+ Recommended The most popular CW contest logger, and the best-tested way to play.
- Open Config → Configure Ports, Mode Control, Winkey, etc… and go to the Broadcast Data tab.
- Tick Contacts.
- In the address box next to it, enter
129.212.188.3:12060. - Already sending to another program, like
127.0.0.1:12060? Keep it and add ours after a space:127.0.0.1:12060 129.212.188.3:12060. N1MM sends to every address in the list. - Click OK.
N1MM also sends edits and deletes, so fixing a busted call in your log fixes it in the game too.
Log4OM 2 Should work, tell us how it goes
- Open Settings → Program Configuration → Software Integration → Connections.
- Add a new UDP outbound connection that sends ADIF messages (the logged QSO).
- Set the address to
129.212.188.3and the port to12060, give it a name such as CW Battle Royale, and add it with the green +. - Save and close. From now on, each QSO you log is copied to the game.
The labels have changed between Log4OM versions. If you can't find an outbound ADIF option, tell us your Log4OM version and we'll help.
Ham Radio Deluxe Logbook Should work, tell us how it goes
- In Logbook, open the QSO Forwarding settings.
- In the UDP Send section, turn on forwarding of new QSOs and set the send address to
129.212.188.3, port12060. - Make sure the send port is different from any UDP Receive port you use (for example 2333 for WSJT-X).
- Click OK.
If your HRD version won't forward QSOs to another computer, tell us your version and we'll help.
DXLog.net Untested, tell us if it works
DXLog.net can broadcast N1MM-style UDP packets. Look under Options → Broadcast for a contact (QSO) broadcast, and point it at 129.212.188.3:12060. Radio-info broadcasts alone won't score anything. Until it's confirmed, the ADIF upload always works.
MacLoggerDX, DXKeeper, Logger32, RUMlogNG, Win-Test and others
Live scoring needs a logger that can send QSOs over UDP. If your logger can send N1MM-style "contactinfo" UDP packets or ADIF over UDP, point it at 129.212.188.3:12060 for live scoring.
Keep WSJT-X pointed at the FT8 game as before. This game only scores CW and ignores everything else, so you can send both games the same feed if that's easier.
Make a CW QSO, then check you're in
Work a station like you normally would and log it. Then enter your callsign here:
If we've got your QSO you'll see a 🎉. If not, you'll get a short checklist.
🎯 How you score
- Every CW QSO scores points. Work a station first on a band today and you get a bonus.
- Get verified. QSOs are checked against the Reverse Beacon Network. Verified QSOs earn every bonus. Call CQ now and then so the skimmers spot you.
- 2x sessions: Happy Hour at 07:00 and 17:00 UTC, plus the weekly CWT and Slow Speed Test sessions and big contest weekends. See 2x Events.
- Daily bounties: 3 target countries each day. Your first QSO with each is worth +10 and can't be stolen.
- Streaks: log 5 or more scoring QSOs a day to build a streak.
- Steals: if you work the same station on the same band later in the day, you take the points from whoever had it.
- Weekly divisions: finish in the top 25% to move up, and avoid the bottom 25%. Divisions lock every Sunday at 23:59 UTC.
Full details are on the Rules page.
❓ Common questions
- Does it cost anything?
- No. It's free.
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. The callsign in your logger is your player name. You show up on the board after your first logged CW QSO.
- I already play FT8 Battle Royale. Is my account here?
- No. CW Battle Royale is a separate game with its own players and scores. Your callsign is your name in both, and you can play both at the same time.
- Will this change my logging, LoTW or QRZ uploads?
- No. The game only receives a copy of each QSO you log. Your normal logging stays exactly the same.
- I'm new to CW. Is this for me?
- Yes! Every CW QSO counts, at any speed. The weekly K1USN Slow Speed Test (20 WPM or slower) is a 2x session here and a friendly place to start. Decoders and keyers are allowed.
- My logger isn't listed. Can I still play?
- If it can send N1MM-style "contactinfo" packets or ADIF over UDP, point it at
129.212.188.3:12060. Otherwise, not yet. Tell us which logger you use and we'll look at supporting it. - My QSO didn't show up. What now?
- Check your callsign in step 3 for a checklist. The most common causes: the QSO wasn't CW, a typo in the address or port, the Contacts box not ticked, or a firewall blocking outgoing UDP. If your internet provider blocks port 12060, try port 5260 instead.
